Photowalking Workshop From the Brooklyn Bridge to Coney Island with Joe DiMaggio

Course Description:
What is ‘photowalking’? It’s when you grab your camera and take a walk. But when you go photowalking with a seasoned pro, you’re bound to return with vastly improved photographic skills and better photographs. Join veteran photojournalist, sports shooter and advertising pro Joe DiMaggio for an all-day photowalking workshop and photograph the best of Brooklyn!
The workshop begins promptly at 10AM on the Manhattan side of the Brooklyn Bridge, whose Gothic inspired design has fascinated many famous writers, artists and photographers over the years. It’s the first bridge that crossed the East River and connected Brooklyn to Manhattan. With spectacular views of the New York skyline and East River, the Brooklyn Bridge is a great vantage point for your photographs and is the perfect start to your Brooklyn adventure.
After crossing the bridge, we will take the subway to Coney Island, Brooklyn’s ‘Playground by the Sea,’ filled with lots of character (and characters), Coney Island is a funky, colorful place with lots to see and plenty to shoot. It’s the perfect location to learn and experience street photography at its best. We’ll visit the amusement park Astroland, which is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year, and is home of the world-famous Cyclone rollercoaster. And no trip to Coney Island is complete without a lunchtime stop at Nathan’s Famous for hot dogs and fries. From there, we’ll walk the boardwalk to the Russian section, known as ‘Little Odessa’ in Brighton Beach and end our Brooklyn excursion shooting ‘magic hour’.
*Also, itinerary may be subject to last-minute changes due to weather or other circumstances.
